How Do I Use Address Book to Make Video Calls?

This topic explains how to make a VoIP click-to-call video call through Address Book:

  1. In order to make a click-to-call video call through Address Book, contact your System Administrator to verify that a VoIP (Voice over IP) server is enabled for this service.  In addition, make sure you and the recipient of your video call both have a web camera and a built-in microphone.

  2. Click a contact in Address Book. Next, click the phone number of that contact.

    A drop-down box lists Convergence's offerings of click-to-call services.

  3. Click Call this number.

A window displaying the Contact's name in the lower right corner opens.

  4. The video call window in the lower right corner displays a status, such as: “Calling <12234567890>.” You hear a telephone ring.

Note - You can only make video calls to Convergence contacts in your company or network.

To accept an incoming video call, a window displays "Incoming video call from <Contact>." Click the green Accept to accept the call.
