You can initiate a conversation with a group of buddies from your buddy list.
To initiate a chat conversation:
Click the Group Chat icon from the toolbar.
Select the buddies you want to add to the conversation by clicking the show buddy pane icon (the << icon) to show the right panel. Type the buddy name that you want to add to the group chat from the buddy list. Click the hide buddy pane (the >> icon) to hide the buddy pane.
An invitation is sent to the buddies requesting confirmation to join the conversation. A chat window appears with the participant list on the right displaying the buddies who are added to the chat. The buddy names are not highlighted until they accept the invitation. If a buddy rejects the invitation, a notification that the user has not joined the conversation appears in the chat window and the buddy name is removed from the list.
When you receive an invitation to join a private chat from a buddy, click Accept to accept the invitation or Reject to reject the invitation.
OR
Hold CTRL (Windows) or Command (Mac) and click on the buddies with whom you want to chat.
The buddies on whom you click are highlighted.
Click the Group Chat icon or right-click on a highlighted buddy and select Group Chat.
To invite more buddies to the existing conversation:
Click the show buddy pane icon (the << icon) to show the right panel.
Enter a name or part of it in the Invite Participants text box of the chat window.
A list of online buddies matching the text you entered in the text box appears.
Select the buddy name from the list.
Click the add buddy (+) icon next to the Invite Participants text box to add the buddy to the group chat.
You cannot remove participants from a group conversation. However, Convergence displays a message to all participants when a participant leaves a group conversation.
