How Do I Sign Out of an External Instant Messaging Account?

Note - Facebook Chat sign out occurs when you sign out of Facebook in the Social tab or through the Instant Messaging Buddy List. See: How Do I Log Out of Facebook through Convergence? ("Sign out" and "log out" are used interchangeably in Convergence.)

To sign out of an external instant messaging account through the Convergence UI, follow these steps:

1. In the Show/Hide Manage Accounts Dialog in the Instant Messaging menu, click the External IM Account icon where you are signed in.
2. Click Sign out next to the External IM Account icon.
3. When you want to sign in again, click Sign in.
4. For external networks other than Facebook, if you do not sign out of the external Instant Messaging account and you exit Convergence, you are automatically signed into that account when you log back into Convergence.
