How Do I Add a Buddy to My Messenger List from an External Instant Messaging Network?
To add a new buddy from the external Instant Messaging network:
Sign into the external Instant Messaging network where you have an account.
With some networks, you authorize the buddies with whom you want to chat through Instant Messaging in Convergence. Once authorized, buddies from that Instant Messaging network display in the Messenger list. Select the buddies with the Add (+) icon.
In Facebook Chat, all buddies are automatically authorized and added to the Convergence IM Messenger list when you log in to Facebook through the Convergence Social tab or through IM. For more information, see: How Do I Log into My Facebook Account through Convergence? To log in through IM:
Click the Show/Hide Manage Accounts dialog.
Click Add an external IM account link.
Select the Facebook icon from the Choose an IM account dialog and provide your Facebook credentials in the Facebook window.
You cannot search for prospective buddies on other networks using Instant Messaging in Convergence. Instead, directly log into those networks to search for and add buddies to that network. When you're logged into Convergence, you can then add those buddies you recently added in the other Instant Messaging network.
Note - Convergence does not store your Facebook user name or password.
